Kara Tointon

Kara began her career with roles in Channel 4’s TEACHERS and other hit shows such as DREAM TEAM (Sky), before the role of Dawn Swann in EASTENDERS (BBC) in 2005. Kara went on to play Rose Selfridge in ITV’s MR. SELFRIDGE and series regular Betsie in THE HALCYON, for Left Bank Pictures and ITV. Her other television credits include LEWIS, HENRY IX and most recently FATHER BROWN for BBC.

Kara’s film credits include THE FOOTBALL FACTORY, THE SWEENEY alongside Ray Winstone, LAST PASSENGER with Dougray Scott, LET’S BE EVIL and THE GALLERY.
She has worked on stage in GASLIGHT, TWELFTH NIGHT for the Royal Shakespeare Company, and THE WINDSORS: ENDGAME at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

Kara most recently starred in ITV’s 4-part Cary Grant biopic, ARCHIE, alongside Jason Isaacs and as the lead in TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE for Channel 5.

Kara will soon be seen as the lead in S2 of THE TEACHER.
