
Jessica Ransom
Jess has been part of the ‘Horrible’ team for years as both an actor and writer. She won a Children’s BAFTA for Best Performer for HORRIBLE HISTORIES in 2015 and has been part of the main cast across six series of HORRIBLE HISTORIES and two series of HORRIBLE SCIENCE.
Her other television credits include playing receptionist, Morwenna Newcross, in DOC MARTIN (ITV). She has also appeared in DADDY ISSUES (BBC), CHANGING ENDS (ITV), AVOIDANCE (BBC), ZAPPED (Dave), DEFENDING THE GUILTY (BBC), OUR ZOO (BBC), THE ARMSTRONG & MILLER SHOW (BBC).
Her film credits include LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT (Netflix), HORRIBLE HISTORIES: THE MOVIE and she recently starred in short film FLOODGATE (Prime Video).
On stage, she started her career writing and performing sketch and character comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe. She played the lead role of Judy in the National Theatre tour of HOME, I’M DARLING and has appeared in THE HYPOCHONDRIAC (Sheffield Theatres), STRAIGHT (Sheffield Theatres), POSH (Duke of York’s/Royal Court). Jess was also part of the cast of HORRIBLE HISTORIES: ‘ORRIBLE OPERA at the Proms in 2023.
As a writer, her credits include HORRIBLE SCIENCE, HORRIBLE HISTORIES, THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL, DANGER MOUSE, SHASHA & MILO, ELLIOT FROM EARTH and THE ARMSTRONG & MILLER SHOW.
